Natural Indoors – A different look to Natural in Nature

With the official launch of Natural in Nature now behind me, I wanted to explore how the project could be adapted for indoor settings—especially when the weather wasn’t being so cooperative. This led to the creation of a small offshoot called Natural Indoors.

The images below are from two separate sessions that highlight an interesting shift in both setting and style. The first shoot featured Annalise, where we created both white and black background shots. Annalise wore a flesh-toned leotard with a high shine, which added an intriguing shimmer to the final images. The reflective nature of the material caught the light in such a way that it brought a certain dynamic energy to the photos.

In contrast, the second shoot was with sisters Dani and Lis, who also wore flesh-toned leotards, but this time with a matte finish. The change in texture was subtle yet impactful—without the shine, the light behaved differently, bouncing off the fabric in softer, more diffused ways. It’s amazing how such a simple adjustment in clothing can dramatically alter the mood and look of the images.

It’s fascinating to see how the choice between shiny and matte finishes can completely transform the final result. So, which do you prefer: the glossy sheen or the smooth matte? Let me know your thoughts!
