Our third shoot for the Natural in Nature project brought us to the rugged beauty of John Forrest National Park, one of Western Australia’s oldest and most enchanting reserves. This session with Dani and Liss perfectly captured the essence of the project — celebrating authenticity, connection, and the organic harmony between people and the landscape.
Among the Rocks and Water
We began by exploring the park’s small water feature, framed by massive boulder rocks that created a striking contrast to the soft, natural tones of the shoot. The light danced across the rock faces, highlighting the textures of the landscape while Dani and Liss moved gracefully through the space — grounded yet ethereal.
The connection between the two felt effortless here; surrounded by the strength of stone and the calm of still water, their energy reflected the balance we find when we return to nature.
Pixie Picnic Cabins
From there, we wandered to several of the park’s whimsical “Pixie” picnic cabins — small, rustic shelters that seem almost storybook in design. Each one offered its own unique charm and atmosphere. Among the wooden beams, the photos took on a dreamy, nostalgic quality.
There’s something magical about these cabins — as though they belong to another time — and photographing Dani and Liss within them felt like stepping into a quiet, enchanted world.
A Walk Beside Glen Brook Dam
To finish the day, we made our way to Glen Brook Dam, following a small bush trail that winds along its edge. The light softened as the afternoon settled in, filtering gently through the trees and bush. Here, the focus shifted to simplicity — moments of stillness, the texture of leaves, the play of sunlight on skin and fabric.
These final images from the shoot carry a deep sense of calm — the kind that only comes when you’re fully immersed in the natural world. It was the perfect way to conclude a day built around connection: with each other, with the landscape, and with the quiet beauty of being present.
Closing Thoughts
Shoot 3 with Dani and Liss encapsulated everything Natural in Nature stands for — authenticity, presence, and the delicate balance between strength and softness found outdoors. Each location offered a new way to see and feel the bond between people and place, reminding us why this project continues to grow with every session.
